Melamine foam is a lightweight, porous material characterized by a density of 16 ± 4 kg/m³ and an open-cell ratio exceeding 99.4%. It possesses inherent flame-retardant properties, along with excellent capabilities for sound absorption and noise reduction, thermal insulation, shock absorption and cushioning, and environmental safety. Its superior structural support capabilities make it widely utilized in new energy battery applications—specifically as support foam, cushioning foam, and thermal insulation foam.
The 99.4% open-cell structure provides ideal compression recovery for EV battery packs. It acts as a resilient spacer that absorbs the natural swelling of cells during charge cycles, maintaining internal structural alignment and preventing mechanical fatigue over the battery's lifespan.
With high thermal stability (up to 240°C) and intrinsic flame retardancy, the foam acts as a critical fire wall to delay thermal runaway. Its excellent dielectric properties further prevent electrical arcing, ensuring high-voltage safety in compact energy storage systems.
